Scream Factory: Not Just a Scare Maze, But a Whole Night Out

Saturday, 10 October 2026

I’ll be honest with you. I’ve been coming to Scream Factory for years now, so I walked in thinking I knew what I was in for. Reader, I did not. By the end I’d jumped at pretty much every single scare, and I’m not a skittish person. I’m a charge-forward type. They just happen to be very, very good at what they do.

But let’s start where the night starts: the village.

Before you even set foot in the maze, you arrive into this little village with a roaring bonfire, a couple of bars, food, and merch, sweets and all. And honestly, this is where they won me over before the scares even began. The roaming actors are the beating heart of this place. They read the room perfectly. Look even slightly afraid and they’ll charge in with a scare, but sit back with a drink by the fire and they’ll wander over for a proper chat. We ended up talking to just about every speaking character there. They stay in character the whole time, but not in a cringy way. It’s just genuinely fun, and you can tell they love it.

Then there’s the maze itself: thirteen rooms, each with its own distinct theme. Some flow straight into the next, keeping you on the back foot, and others give you a little outdoor walk in between to catch your breath, which only makes the next hit land harder. The whole thing took us about an hour, maybe a touch less. Themes range from original concepts to a few familiar horror faces thrown in, shall we say, unofficially, of course.

And here’s what you only notice after years of going: how cleverly they reuse and rebuild sets to create completely new themes. Seeing what’s stuck around and what’s been reinvented is a real treat for a returning visitor.

I've done a lot of UK scare mazes now and this one is definitely my favourite.
